The weather is getting warmer and we are introducing more spring activities in the classroom! I am excited to be getting outside more, and I cannot wait to be able to bring our activities and centers to our outdoor space. In the meantime, here are some of the activities we had in our classroom this week:

Hop along the number line addition and subtraction task cards for kindergarten

Hop Along the Number Line

Our students had so much fun learning to use a number line to solve addition problems. They loved using the plastic bunny to hop on the numbers, and they did a great job with it.

I laminated the number lines and task cards so that students could write their answers with white board markers. They can also draw their hops on the number line if they want.

You can get this pack that is for numbers 0 to 10, or Buzz Along the Number Line that works on numbers 0 to 20, or you can get both!

Pompom sorting activity to work on fine motor skills. Kindergarten math center for Easter and spring.

Pompom Sort

This was a great fine motor center that we set up this week. Students sorted the pompoms into the different colored eggs using the tweezers. I used a clear egg carton and put the larger half of the plastic egg in it. I got this idea from Little Bins for Little Hands and our students loved going to this center!

Can you make a house for the bunny?

A new STEM challenge for our students this week. They could use the material anyway they wanted to make a house for the bunny. I love how every one of our students’ houses were completely unique.

This is a great activity for spring or Easter in your classroom, and your students will have lots of fun building!

geoboard and marble provocation for kindergarten. challenge students to build something with elastics and marble, or ask them to make a maze

Geoboard Mazes

We challenged our students to make something with geoboards, elastics and marbles. A lot of our students quickly made mazes and shapes for the marbles to roll in. This is some great fine motor practice, and our students had a lot of fun figuring out how they could use these materials.
