Kindergarten Sight Word Activities: Fun and engaging Mystery Sight Words centers for your kindergarten students. Learn to read and write the different sight words by using beginning sounds.
We introduced a new challenging activity to our kindergarten students last week. It involves using beginning sounds to find mystery sight words. It’s a great way to work on phonological awareness and sight word recognition all in one activity.

I’ve included two different ways to do this activity: with task cards and a recording sheet, or full-page work mats.

Our kindergarten students enjoyed the challenge of finding all the beginning sounds and figuring out what the hidden sight words were.
They felt proud of themselves when they were able to figure it out, and read the word that they got!
