A couple of weeks ago we had our Meet the Teacher night. Parents and families are invited into their child’s classroom so they can meet us; they get an opportunity to look at what we are doing, and ask us any questions. It’s a great way to connect with families, and get the year off to a great start.

Scavenger Hunt

Our students bring their families around the classroom to show off different centers and things around our room. They were so proud to show off their work and it gave them a great opportunity to talk to their families about what we are doing.

Donation Table

We always ask families for donations for the classroom. If families are able to, they take one of the items and will send it in whenever they have a chance. I had seen this idea online and I loved it, so I knew I had to do it too!

Math Table

We wanted to give an idea of our loose parts math table, and some number sense concepts that we are working on. We just put out this simple provocation, and it was great to see parents interacting with it.

Literacy Table

I use this table to promote our Scholastic orders, so that parents understand why we are sending home the flyers every month. I am able to buy a lot of classroom books and materials using the bonus money so I push these flyers on the parents as much as I can!

Small Gift

We made these magnets for families to take home with them. It is a great keepsake, and I hope it is something that they treasure for year to come. The pictures are so cute, and it’s a great way to display their child’s hard work. If you would like to use these tags, you can get the free download in my Resource Library!.
