This new center idea is now in my Teachers pay Teachers store and I am excited to try it out with our students.
Students use a magnifying glass to find the sight word hidden on each of the 10 gingerbread men. Once they find one, they fill in the recording sheet. Once they have found all 10, there is a space for them to write a sentence using one of the sight words. I used sight words from the Dolch pre-primer list (big, and, said, look, play, jump, down, can, come & run) and chose ones that I thought students needed a bit more help learning.
This is a great literacy center to practice sight word recognition and writing skills.
