Provide your students with the opportunity to practice problem-solving and creative thinking skills with these STEM Activities for Kindergarten.

Providing various opportunities for students to practice STEM skills is an important part of my kindergarten classroom. Problem-solving and creative thinking can be worked on through different activities.

These Building Challenges task cards are such a fun, engaging, hands-on addition to your Lego blocks. They provide students with a creative outlet while working on other important skills!

STEM Activities for Kindergarten

Have fun and engage your students' creative thinking and problem solving skills with these easy and fun task cards.

Each one of these cards comes with an image that students will have to try and replicate using building blocks. They will have to try and engineer and build an object that looks similar.

I let my students choose if they would like to build flat or upwards- they can use their innovation skills to choose. I also encourage them to try and build the word or just the first letter.

Print and Go

These cards are ready to use, just print and cut them. You can laminate them if you would like to be able to reuse them numerous times. You can see how I prep all my centers by going to this blog post.

These Lego task cards are perfect to use all year long and change with the seasons. Promote fine motor skills, creative thinking and problem solving skills with these STEM Activities for kindergarten.

These cards can be used and reused all year. Switch them out periodically to give your students some different challenges. I have 6 different packs available that will take you through the whole school year.

Fine Motor

These Lego task cards are perfect to use all year long and change with the seasons. Promote fine motor skills, creative thinking and problem solving skills with these STEM Activities for kindergarten.

I have written and talked about fine motor skills a lot… I think they are so important for our young learners to practice. You can listen to my talk about them on my podcast, or read about it in this blog post.

Lego is amazing for reinforcing fine motor control. Those little muscles have to work hard to put together and take apart the pieces!

Individual Activity

Students can use their own cards and Lego to work on their own, or they can work together (for example, in the Building Center or Small World Play). You can even add them to your sensory bin!

There are so many to use these cards, and students will love the extra challenge.
