One of the things I love most about working in a kindergarten classroom – coming up with engaging activity ideas to spark my students’ curiosity and extend their learning. Planning and setting up provocations and invitations for learning is my favourite thing to do!
For some educators, coming up with ideas can be a little harder. They might need a little inspiration to get the creative juices flowing – so I created a monthly ideas list! Keep reading to learn more about it, and grab the free download.
Activity Ideas
I’ve put together a list of activity ideas from last school year. For each week, I’ve included tabletop activity ideas that we tried in the classroom! They cover a variety of skills and use all kinds of materials. Every image is also linked to a resource or blog post in case you need further explanations.

My hope is that you will get some inspiration when you are doing your own planning. This way, you can see what another educator is doing in the classroom and modify it to fit the needs of your own students.
Not Long Range Plans
I don’t intend for these lists to be used as long-range plans. I’ve listed the activity ideas by month so that they are organized, but that doesn’t mean you have to follow them in that way.
The programming for your classroom should follow your students’ interests, and your planning should be based on the needs of your own students. I won’t be doing the same activities this year because I have a whole new set of students that I need to plan for. I will be able to look to this list, though, to get ideas and inspiration.

It’s Free!
The best part about this idea list? It’s completely free! Download it now to use all year:
