My son has started to show an interest in letters. He likes to point them out and try to name them, or asks me to identify them. I want to continue to nurture this interest, so I’ve made him a set of custom alphabet playdough mats.

Using the Alphabet Mats
I started with the letter B, and this is the setup I used for an explicit approach to teaching the letter. My son loved it and played with the materials for 45 minutes!
I used:
- Blue playdough that we made ourselves
- Sensory Stone Birds from Yellow Door
- Store and Go tabletop easel from Hape
- Mnemonic alphabet cards from ONlit
- Lowercase alphabet cards

I plan on slowly introducing new letters and reviewing the ones he already knows using similar activities. I also want to find a place where I can display the letter cards I introduced.
I love the idea of using playdough mats to make letter learning more hands-on and fun. I’d check leon bet casino for ideas on different alphabet layouts, colors, and simple activities to add to each mat. Making them in Canva also seems like an easy way to personalize the set around a child’s interests.
