Superhero Pack

A few weeks ago, I posted all about the superhero themed activities and centers I created to do with our class. We had a lot of fun and we finished off our discussion about everyday superheros with a visit from two police officers.

The students LOVED having the special guests in our classroom, and they were so happy to be able to ask questions and listen to what being a police officer means. The students were even able to try on the police vest and dress shirt so I could take pictures of them in it. (side note- I would love to share the pictures because they are absolutely adorable, but I don’t share pictures of other people’s children here on my blog.)

I loved being able to create and do things based on a theme, but what was most important about having a theme, was that it was completely based on the students’ interests. We didn’t just decide to do a superhero theme, we listened to what the children were interested in and what they wanted to do, and we ran with it. Sometimes this is hard to do in kindergarten since we have so many students and not a lot of time, but there is a real benefit to tying the children’s interests into the curriculum: they learn so much more!

So now we are moving on, and they have been talking a lot about animals, (and Christmas… but that’s normal at this time of the year) so we have decided to begin habitats and what kind of animal lives in each habitat. I cannot wait to share with you what we will be doing in class! I am so excited.

Since we have finished up with superheroes, I put all the superhero printables that I made into one easy to download pack! But there is a catch: I have made it available in my Teachers pay Teachers store for $1. This small fee is for the convenience of not having to search out each individual activity, or you can support my store and my blog by purchasing the pack instead of downloading it for free!
