Adding a fun Valentine’s Day literacy activity to our sensory bin this week: Sight Word Hearts.
An easy addition to a sensory bin, just write the sight words you want your students to work on on some foam hearts, put them in the sensory bin and presto! You have literacy integrated into your sensory play.
For some added fun, include a recording sheet so that students can write down which sight words that they have found.
I have laminated 2 copies of this sheet and placed them at the sensory bin. This makes the center much more literacy based and challenges the students to read and write each sight word instead of just tossing them aside.
