Pattern Cards for Links

I quickly made up these pattern cards to use with plastic links to work on extending patterns. The download contains 9 cards: 6 have coloured dots that make up the pattern core that the students must extend, and 3 cards that have pattern rules to make up their own patterns.

This is a super simple center to put together. Cut out the cards (I glue them to cardstock for durability), laminate and then punch a hole under each pattern.

Of course it helps if you have a full set of links with all the different colours. I, of course, did not. Instead, the students used their imagination and substituted the colours we did not have. It is never a dull day in kindergarten!
